Separate is NEVER Equal!

My art teacher asked the class to pick someone who has changed the world! I decided to pick Sylvia Mendez . She is a American civil rights activist of Mexican-Puerto Rican heritage. She was also the lead plaintiff in the case Mendez v. Westminster. In 1947, the case ended school segregation in California! I believe she has really impacted the world and my heritage. I decided to make a collage to show her era and what she had to go through. Made this collage by hand and scanned the final product. I drew her by hand and scanned the drawing once i was done. I brought the drawing into Adobe Illustrator and turned it into an Illustration. I brought the final product together in Adobe Photoshop. I believe Separate is NEVER Equal and Sylvia Mendez made sure of it!

My evolution of Painting Women! YIKES!

I've been painting for eight years now. At the beginning of my art journey, I struggled with painting. It was something I gained interest for. Throughout the years I practiced, practiced, practiced. Basically until my paint brushes worn out. My paintings improved for the better. Never give up on your passion. Practice, practice, practice and you will get better!
